Susan Dennis (born 1942, Leeds), was taught by Harry Thubron at Leeds College of Art 1958-63 and then studied postgraduate at Newcastle and Sheffield Universities. Susan has worked as both an art teacher and psychotherapist and now lives and works as a painter in York.

Daily life in York, the studio, still life with found objects and printed patterns, the landscape through the window, images of travel and memories of a rural childhood are the subjects of her paintings and drawings. She is influenced by British landscape painting; in particular by Sheila Fell, Winifred Nicholson, Mary Potter and Anne Redpath.
